Moritz Krämer is one of those German new-generation singer-songwriters, who combine marvelous compositions with witty, challenging, sometimes even whimsical or unsettling lyrics, usually sung in an extremely mumbly way. In this case, the mumbling is so severe at times that even a native speaker listening with headphones is in trouble trying to grasp the words - which is a pity, since the lyrics are really worthwhile. In any case, the exceptionally beautiful musical themes and arrangements are a great value in itself. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)

Even more than on his previous two albums, Moritz Krämer goes into "baroque pop" on this 40-minute longplayer, which should earn him the title "Germany's Pete Dello". He's one of the top artists on Tapete Records for sure. The only criticism I have to raise again is that it's utmost hard to understand the lyrics (which are quite valuable, by the way) - and that's even though German is my mother tongue. Sven B. Moritz Krämer is one of my favorite German singer-songwriters. Frankly, I don't like the way he mumbles the lyrics, because it's sometimes hard to understand the words. And that's a pity, because his lyrics really are worth a listen. On "Ich hab' einen Vertrag unterschrieben" (I've signed a contract"), Moritz Krämer takes the listener on an uneasy trip through the ups and downs of the commercial music business from the point of view of a sensible and creative singer-songwriter. The lyrics are witty, frequently tongue-in-cheek in a nice way, and expose an inherent melancholic flavor. My favorite track "Eine Ballade muss drauf sein" ("A ballad must be included") is a masterpiece: Of course, it's written in the form of a ballad, but in fact it's full of cutting irony about the inevitable ballad found on commercial rock/pop albums.
